In a gesture reflecting national unity and Egypt’s ongoing commitment to its citizens abroad, the Egyptian Consulate General in Los Angeles marked the Easter season with an official visit to leaders of the Coptic Orthodox Church in Southern California.

The visit was conducted on behalf of H.E. Ambassador Dr. Hossam El-Din Ali, Consul General of Egypt in Los Angeles and the West Coast, who was unable to attend due to travel commitments. Representing him, Consul Ahmed Anwar delivered official Easter greetings in a meeting that brought together key religious and community figures in a warm and respectful atmosphere.

The gathering included prominent representatives of the Egyptian-American community, alongside members of the General Union of Egyptians Abroad in the United States. Among those present were President Raafat Salib, Vice President Eng. Hesham Stita, Dr. Abu Bakr El-Tawansi, Secretary General Eng. Hesham Taha, Mira Victor, Wael Nazmy, and Hany Magdy. Their participation highlighted the strong cohesion within the Egyptian diaspora and its active role in maintaining cultural and national connections.

During the visit, Easter greetings were extended to His Grace Bishop Serapion, Metropolitan of Los Angeles, Southern California, and Hawaii, as well as to His Grace Bishop Kyrillos and His Grace Bishop Abraham. The meeting reflected a spirit of mutual respect and collaboration between Egypt’s official institutions and the Coptic Orthodox Church abroad.

Several clergy members and their families also attended the gathering, including Archpriest Beshoy Aziz, founder of Logos Coptic Channel, a widely recognized media platform serving Coptic Christian communities worldwide.

Participants emphasized that such visits go beyond ceremonial gestures. They serve as a reminder of Egypt’s continued engagement with its diaspora and its commitment to strengthening bonds across borders. Religious occasions like Easter provide an opportunity to reinforce shared values of unity, coexistence, and mutual support among Egyptians of all backgrounds.

The event underscored the importance of collaboration between diplomatic missions, religious institutions, and community organizations in fostering a sense of belonging and national identity among Egyptians living abroad. It also reflected a broader message of tolerance and solidarity, particularly during moments that bring communities together in celebration and reflection.
