Newark Honors Council President Luis Quintana for Lifetime of Public Service
City Council President Luis A. Quintana receives a Lifetime of Public Service Award as Newark’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration highlights civic leadership, student support and local business ties.
Newark honored City Council President and Councilman-at-Large Luis A. Quintana with its Lifetime of Public Service Award during the city’s Hispanic Heritage Month celebration at Newark Symphony Hall on Thursday.
Quintana was among 13 people recognized for contributions to the city. First elected to the council in 1994, he has also served as Newark’s interim mayor. The award recognized his decades of work in public service and the community.
The celebration, hosted by PIX11’s Monica Morales, also included scholarships for five Newark students and a Key to the City presentation to Goya Foods.
